Crayfish Salad with Dill on Toast – A Great Seafood Appetizer

Crayfish salad with dill on toast

Simple and delicious, just buy cooked crayfish tails and combine with mayonnaise, lemon and fresh dill. With some salt and pepper and a slice of toast, this Crayfish Salad is done and ready to be enjoyed.

This Crayfish Salad is about as easy as appetizers go. All you need is good quality cooked seafood, a slice of toast, mayo, lemon and dill. I put it all together and serve it as a small snack. One of the great things about this recipe is that you can serve it in many ways. Do like I did and serve it like small toasts or snacks. Make it bigger and you’ve got a full appetizer. Add a salad, a few slices of avocado and a good fresh bread and you’ve got yourself a lunch.

For the recipe I didn’t add any measurements but you want the mix to be at a minimum of 50% of crayfish, you want the crayfish, the mayo is only there to add flavor and moisture. Also, you can, of course, replace or mix in other kinds of seafood like shrimps, lobster or crab as well. Use what you have that is great wherever you live. This approach goes for the flavors as well. Want to make it spicy? Just add chili. Want some sting? Add freshly grated horseradish.

I have nothing against buying mayonnaise but usually for dishes like this I make my own. You decide for yourself but if you buy try to spend a little bit extra, it will be worth it. And finally only fresh dill and freshly squeezed lemon are ok. This costs very little but makes a huge difference in comparison to bottled lemon juice or frozen dill. Now go cook and good luck.
